Research involving animals must obtain prior approval from an appropriate ethics committee and follow established welfare guidelines. 

For plant research, authors must ensure compliance with relevant national and international regulations, including the Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit-Sharing where applicable. Authors must clearly state ethical approvals and compliance in their manuscripts.
